BMW organizes its model lineup primarily by a numbering system. Generally, even-numbered models (2, 4, 6, 8) represent coupes, gran coupes, or “sportier” variants, while odd-numbered models (1, 3, 5, 7) represent traditional sedans or SUVs.

Here is a breakdown of the major BMW models categorized by type:

1. Sedans and Coupes

  • 1 Series: Entry-level hatchback (popular in Europe, not sold in the US).
  • 2 Series: Compact entry-level model; available as a 2-door Coupe and the 4-door Gran Coupe.
